Consider contacting an ezine owner for a joint venture using a fax. Spend the time to join his or her list and to follow along for at least a few weeks. This will give you a rough idea whether or not partnering with him/her is a good idea. If it is, create a personal letter and fax it to him/her with your joint venture pitch idea.
Contact ezine owners and ask them if they are interested in free audio packages. You can create an archive filled with audio presentations and only allow ezine owners to either purchase access or give you traffic in turn for exclusive access for their members. If you already have a microphone and an audio program, you can do this for free.
Consider writing your solo advertisement as a series of benefits, rather than a solution to a problem. One of the best ways in which to do this is to develop an introduction to your product and then use asterisks or other bulletpoints to convey each point. This sometimes makes it easier for a reader to process all of the information and make a decision.
Format your ezine advertisement correctly before you send in to a publisher. In most cases, you will have to format your advertisement to 60 – 65 words; and you may even want to perform a spam check. If the text isn’t formatted properly, lines will be broken and wrapped unprofessionally; and if you don’t perform a spam check, it may never even go through in the first place.
Consider outsourcing your ezine research. Collecting hundreds of possible names and contacts is a tedious job – but one professionals are willing to do for you for $10 – 20. Rather than wasting your valuable time looking for these partners, simply hire a company like Research Owl to do it for you. This will free you up to perform more critical tasks.
Use a powerful “call to action” in your advertisement. This is the part of the advertisement that tells the reader to stop looking and “buy now” or “get in now before you no longer can” or “start today for free.” An effective solo ad will integrate multiple calls to action to give the reader the option to skip to your site immediately several times.
Setup contracts with ezines owners. Promise to procure at least one high-quality, exclusive article from your staff each month. Find an expert on your subject who will write this article for you for a low price, sync it with an upcoming product release (for which you advertise in your resource box), and then send it along to the ezine owner.
Market your ezine through an established exchange, such as the ezine directory. These exchanges will allow you to solicit possible joint ventures with other ezine owners without actually paying them money for an advertisement. Of course, if you would prefer not to put a solo advertisement in your own list, you can always simply pay.
